Peking University, Sep. 19, 2014: The Qiu Shi 2014 Awards Presenting Ceremony was held on September 13th at Fudan University by the Qiu Shi Science & Technologies Foundation. At the ceremony, Yang Yue, an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Sciences, College of Engineering, was awarded the Qiu Shi Outstanding Young Scholar, as one of the ten recipients of the award.

Yang joined the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Sciences in 2013, after obtaining his Ph.D. degree in Aeronautics from California Institute of Technology in 2011 and then working as a Combustion Energy Research Fellow at Princeton University. He was later appointed as “Thousand Young Talents Plan” recipient by the Chinese Central Ministry of Organization.
