Functions
 

Office of Development and Planning is a new office established in 1999. Its central responsibilities are to develop the mid-tem and long-term development strategies of the university under the leadership of the university president. Based on the overall development strategies, the Office is also responsible for developing academic plans, coordinating resource allocation, and overseeing the campus planning.

Organizational Structure
 

To fulfill its functions, the Office of Development and Planning sets up three sections, academic planning section, resource planning section, and campus planning section. The academic planning section acts as a secretarial body for the Committee for Academic Planning of the university which is responsible for deciding important matters of academic structure of the university. The resource planning section acts as a secretarial body for the Committee for Resource Planning of the university which is responsible for decisions of important matters concerning resource allocation. The campus planning section acts as a secretarial body for the Committee for Campus Planning which is responsible for matters concerning campus development. Main members of the three committees form the Committee for Development and Planning chaired by the president of the University. The Committee is responsible for important matters concerning the development strategies and priorities of the university. In addition to those committees, the Office for Development and Planning also acts as an organizing body for an Expert Committee on Development and Planning of the university which is composed of dozens of senior professors of various disciplines. The chief function of the Expert committee is to discuss important matters concerning university planning and provide advices for decision making.
